Euro Currency Converter
Croatia uses the euro (€), adopted on 1 January 2023, so prices in Zadar are always quoted in euros. Card payment is accepted almost everywhere, from Old Town restaurants to bus ticket machines, but keep some cash for smaller konobas and the beach kiosks around the archipelago. Withdraw euros from a bank-branded ATM rather than an unfamiliar standalone machine, and always choose to be charged in euros, not your home currency. Paying in another currency at a till usually means a poor, on-the-spot exchange rate.
Exchange rates below are indicative and move daily, so check your own bank or card provider before you travel. Airport and Old Town exchange kiosks often offer weaker rates than a bank app or a mid-city exchange office.
